The Great Commission Society is a global non-denominational organisation that exists to communicate the Good News of the Gospel message relevantly to every person throughout the world. We do this by providing a substantial training curriculum, reinforced with a robust mentoring programme to effectively equip Christians for effective personal evangelism and discipleship training.

Historically, evangelism has become an impersonal event or presentation that stops as soon as it is finished without maintaining any integral part of personal day to day living. Our objective is to work closely with individuals, groups and church movements around the world to provide relevant training to help them practically reach out to friends, family and acquaintances with the clarity of the Gospel message through both words and actions.  The combination of both ‘theoretical study’ and ‘putting it into practice’ is where we see most fruit.  Experienced evangelists take students into the mission field for “on-the-job” training, to provide real life witnessing situations to help people learn how to share the Gospel and how to lead someone to Christ. In a nut shell, we are here to help others share the Gospel more effectively.

Keeping evangelism as our central focus, the society also responds to a wide range of humanitarian needs, from the provision of aid for those facing natural or man-made disaster, to providing free educational support to students, government organisations and the general public to promote human welfare and social justice. This is an area of expertise where we support churches and organisations bridge the gap with the secular world to enable them to advance the Gospel.

Our continual challenge as an interdenominational ministry is to adapt to the fast changing world around us, to infuse excellence in evangelism throughout our programmes, and to find new ways to reach lost people. Together with our partners, we are working in over 100 countries, to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on equipping the global church.

Here is a breakdown of what we provide:

1. Evangelistic Missions

The Great Commission Society has a growing team of evangelists serving within our ministry across the world, with a lot of experience sharing one-to-one across cultures as well as speaking to secular groups, such as: schools; universities; prisons; detention centres; Sports and Fitness; New Age events; market place meetings; rehabilitation centres; street work; public meetings, etc… Our team come with God’s anointing, passion and the experience required, helping build momentum in evangelism in the local context.

2. Annual School of Evangelism & Discipleship

GCS send out experienced evangelists to provide substantial practical training in evangelism and discipleship. The combination of both ‘theoretical study’ and ‘putting it into practice’ is where we see most fruit. Our curriculum provides three stages of training:

3. Short-Term Mission opportunities

In conjunction with our partners, GCS are able to host and organise short-term mission trips world-wide, lasting anywhere from 1 week to 1 year. We offer hundreds of possibilities for individuals, families, married couples, churches and youth groups designed to get people fired-up for evangelism in their local fellowship.

4. Evangelist Mentoring Programme

GCS provide one-to-one mentoring in personal evangelism to individuals across the world. Our main objective is to keep Christ centred, Bible grounded, Gospel focused – sharing new resources and offering support and guidance in a difficult mission field so that evangelists can serve God in their local fellowship to their fullest potential.
